Thailand Strengthens Grid Infrastructure to Support Renewable Energy Integration

Date:2026-07-23

Thailand’s Electricity Generating Authority (EGAT) has partnered with Sinohydro (Thailand) to install STATCOM technology at the Khlong Ngae Substation, enhancing grid stability and improving the power system’s capability to support renewable energy integration.

As Thailand continues to accelerate the development of solar, wind, and other clean energy sources, advanced grid technologies such as Smart Grid, energy management systems, and grid stabilization solutions are becoming increasingly important to ensure reliable electricity supply and efficient renewable energy utilization.

The project highlights the growing need for modern power infrastructure to enable the transition toward a more flexible, resilient, and sustainable energy system.

ASEE – ASEAN Smart Energy & Energy Storage Expo 2027 will bring together global energy leaders, utilities, technology providers, and industry professionals to explore the latest solutions in renewable energy integration, smart grid technologies, energy storage systems, and intelligent energy management, supporting ASEAN’s transition toward a cleaner energy future.
