TGES Launches Solar + BESS Demonstration Project in Thailand

Date:2026-07-16

As Thailand accelerates its industrial decarbonization, the market is shifting beyond standalone solar projects toward integrated Solar + BESS + Smart Energy Management solutions.

Recently, Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES) announced a 20 MW Solar PV + 20 MWh BESS demonstration project for industrial facilities in Thailand.

What makes this project stand out?

  • Japanese BEMS technology
Integrates a Japanese-developed Building Energy Management System (BEMS) to optimize solar generation, battery storage, and factory power consumption.

  •  Designed for industrial users
Combines Solar + BESS to improve energy efficiency, power reliability, and support decarbonization in manufacturing facilities.

  • On-site PPA model
Enables industrial users to adopt clean energy without significant upfront capital investment, lowering the barrier to energy transition.

  • Supported by Japan's METI
Backed by a funding program from Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), supporting overseas low-carbon demonstration projects.

 Why does it matter?

Thailand's growing industrial base—including automotive, electronics, data centers, and industrial parks—is driving demand for reliable, low-carbon, and integrated energy solutions.

These are exactly the market trends that ASEE – ASEAN Smart Energy & Energy Storage Expo 2027 aims to bring together, connecting industry leaders to explore new technologies and business opportunities across Thailand and ASEAN.
