The ASEAN Energy Investment 2026 report, launched by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) on October 6, 2026, highlights the significant investment needed to support Southeast Asia’s growing energy demand and clean energy transition.

According to the ASEAN Energy Outlook 9 (AEO9), ASEAN’s energy demand is projected to grow by 4.2% annually, reaching approximately 2,047 million tonnes of oil equivalent (Mtoe) by 2060. The report also underscores the region’s substantial financing needs for energy infrastructure development and decarbonization.

Solar power, battery energy storage systems, smart grids and cross-border electricity connectivity will be important to the region’s evolving energy landscape. Mobilizing investment and strengthening collaboration among technology providers, project developers, investors and policymakers will be essential to advancing these opportunities.

ASEE 2027 – ASEAN Smart Energy & Energy Storage Expo will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 17–19, 2027. The exhibition will connect energy industry stakeholders and support business networking and knowledge exchange across Southeast Asia’s energy value chain.
