On 28 August, Thailand’s Electricity Generating Authority (EGAT), Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT) and 13 organizations from the public, education and industrial sectors signed an MoU to establish HOTNET, a collaborative network focused on talent development, R&D, knowledge exchange and international cooperation in nuclear energy technology.
This is part of a broader movement toward a more diversified future energy ecosystem. In recent months, EGAT has showcased AI-powered technologies using satellite data to advance smart grid development, while also moving forward with a STATCOM project to enhance grid flexibility and accommodate renewable energy integration.
These developments highlight Thailand’s growing focus on renewable energy, energy storage, smart grids and modern power infrastructure — creating new opportunities across the energy value chain.
