Thailand Accelerates Clean Energy! Gulf Development Commissions Two Solar Farms

Date:2025-12-16

Gulf Development Public Company Limited has officially started commercial operations of two utility-scale solar farms in Thailand on December 15, 2025, with a combined installed capacity of 145 MW and contracted capacity of 109.7 MW. Electricity generated is supplied to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under long-term PPAs, bolstering clean energy growth and stable pricing.

As Thailand continues expanding solar capacity under supportive policies, the integration of large-scale renewables increases the demand for energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid flexibility and firm capacity.

Projects like these contribute to Thailand's renewable targets and long-term energy transition roadmap. Paired with storage technologies, they enable more reliable, around-the-clock clean power supply.

Stable long-term power contracts attract investment confidence, creating fertile ground for energy storage innovations — from advanced batteries to hybrid solar-plus-storage plants and smart energy management solutions.
