Hitachi Energy announced that it will drive Thailand’s power grid into a “digital energy transition” era, leveraging digital technologies and smart grid solutions to enhance the country’s ability to manage the surging electricity demand brought by renewable energy, large-scale data centers, and electric vehicles. This means grid fluctuations will occur more frequently, and energy storage and grid automation technologies will become key to ensuring system flexibility and reliability.

As Thailand accelerates the development of digitalized grids and intelligent energy systems, its reliance on high-reliability power infrastructure is greatly increasing. This will rapidly drive demand for energy storage systems (ESS + battery storage + grid-side flexibility equipment) to balance renewable generation with stable power supply requirements.

Energy storage systems will become the central hub connecting the three core elements of “green generation + smart grids + end-use loads”, providing essential support for Thailand’s carbon neutrality and energy transition goals, while also opening new market opportunities for energy storage equipment manufacturers and system integrators.

As Thailand and ASEAN as a whole move into a new era of “green + smart + energy storage,” global energy storage enterprises and technology providers are turning their attention to the ASEAN Smart Energy & Energy Storage Expo (ASEE2026). By participating, companies can showcase their energy storage and smart grid solutions, seize the rapidly expanding ASEAN energy storage market, and build partnerships with regional policymakers, energy companies, and project owners—strategically positioning themselves in the future energy landscape.
