In the first half of 2025, Thailand’s data center sector attracted 28 projects with a total investment of USD 16.1 billion (THB 521.2 billion). From May to June alone, six Tier 3 data center projects were approved, investing over USD 3.5 billion with a total IT load nearing 740 MW, reflecting the rapid growth of Thailand’s digital economy.

Meanwhile, surging cloud service demand fueled USD 1.3 billion investment applications in renewable energy, with wind power rapidly expanding to energize the green electricity supply.

As energy-intensive facilities, data centers require stable and clean power. Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) not only support data centers’ green transformation but also ensure power quality and supply stability, improving energy efficiency.

The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has introduced policies including PUE standards and advanced computing support to encourage deep integration of data centers with energy storage and solar PV, driving Thailand toward its 10 GW energy storage target by 2037.

8.13 ASEE ข่าวสารนานาชาติ | ตลาดศูนย์ข้อมูลและพลังงานทดแทนของไทยเติบโต รุกตลาดเก็บพลังงานและโซลาร์พีวีใหม่!

ในช่วงครึ่งแรกของปี 2025 อุตสาหกรรมศูนย์ข้อมูลของไทยดึงดูดโครงการทั้งหมด 28 โครงการ รวมมูลค่าการลงทุนกว่า 521,200 ล้านบาทสหรัฐ (16.1 พันล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ) โดยในเดือนพฤษภาคม-มิถุนายน ได้รับอนุมัติ 6 โครงการศูนย์ข้อมูลระดับ Tier 3 ด้วยการลงทุนกว่า 35,000 ล้านบาทสหรัฐ โดยมีกำลังไฟฟ้ารวมประมาณ 740 เมกะวัตต์ สะท้อนการเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็วของเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัลไทย

ในขณะเดียวกัน ความต้องการบริการคลาวด์ที่เพิ่มสูงส่งผลให้มีการยื่นขอทุนในภาคพลังงานทดแทนรวม 13,000 ล้านบาทสหรัฐ โดยพลังงานลมขยายตัวอย่างรวดเร็ว ช่วยเสริมแหล่งจ่ายไฟฟ้าสีเขียว

ศูนย์ข้อมูลในฐานะที่เป็นสถานที่ใช้พลังงานสูง จำเป็นต้องการไฟฟ้าที่มั่นคงและสะอาด โซลาร์พีวีและระบบกักเก็บพลังงานแบตเตอรี่ (BESS) ไม่เพียงแต่ช่วยศูนย์ข้อมูลปรับตัวสู่พลังงานสีเขียวเท่านั้น แต่ยังช่วยรับประกันคุณภาพและความมั่นคงของไฟฟ้า พร้อมเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการใช้พลังงาน

สำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุน (BOI) ของไทย ได้ออกนโยบายมาตรฐาน PUE และสนับสนุนการประมวลผลขั้นสูง เพื่อส่งเสริมการบูรณาการศูนย์ข้อมูลกับระบบกักเก็บพลังงานและโซลาร์พีวีอย่างลึกซึ้ง เพื่อผลักดันเป้าหมายกักเก็บพลังงาน 10 GW ภายในปี 2037
