1. Digital Edge & B.Grimm Launch $1B AI-Ready Green Data Center in Thailand
Singapore & Thailand, 2025 — Digital Edge and Thai energy giant B.Grimm Power have announced a $1 billion joint venture to build a 100 MW hyperscale, AI-ready data center in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. Slated for Q4 2026, the campus will offer high-density colocation and hybrid cloud services—powered entirely by sustainable energy. Backed by strong government incentives, the project positions Thailand as a key digital and clean energy hub in Southeast Asia.

2. EGAT Moves Forward with 50 MW Floating Solar–Hydro Hybrid Project
Bangkok, 2025 —Thailand’s EGAT has launched bidding for a 50 MWac floating solar project at Vajiralongkorn Dam, combining solar PV with existing hydropower in a hybrid model. The initiative is part of EGAT’s national clean energy strategy, which includes floating solar projects on major dams, supporting Thailand’s 2050 carbon neutrality goals and signaling more hybrid solar tenders ahead.

3. PTT Public Co. Ltd – Launch of Direct PPAs & Ammonia Fuel Pilot
Thailand, 2025 — In 2024, PTT introduced Direct Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), enabling corporate clients (including data centres) to procure up to 2 GW directly from renewables—bypassing intermediaries and unlocking private-sector investment in solar and storage projects. In May 2025, PTT also signed an MOU with GPSC to explore low-carbon ammonia co-firing in power plants, aligning with Thailand’s Net-Zero goals.

4. BOI Stimulates Investment in 2,900 Clean-Energy Projects
Bangkok, 2025 – Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) has backed over 2,900 clean energy initiatives from 2015 through March 2025, totaling more than THB 560 billion (approx. USD 16 billion). The projects include solar, wind, biogas, and waste-to-energy, contributing to Thailand’s goal of achieving 50% renewable energy by 2037.
