CEEG Shanxi Wins 180 MW Floating Solar EPC Project at Thailand’s Srinagarind Dam

Date:2025-03-13

China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (CEEG Shanxi) has successfully secured the bid for the 180 MW floating photovoltaic (FPV) EPC project at Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, under the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). This marks another overseas floating solar EPC project for CEEG Shanxi, following the Sirindhorn Dam FPV project in Thailand and the Tengger Reservoir FPV project in Singapore.

The project is located at Srinagarind Dam in Kanchanaburi Province, western Thailand, approximately 200 kilometers from Bangkok. With a total installed capacity of 180 MW, it will cover a water area of about 300 hectares. In addition to the floating solar farm, the construction scope includes a new 33 kV switch station.

Scheduled to commence construction in mid-2025, the project is expected to create over 500 local jobs and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 180,000 tons annually. It will support Thailand in achieving its renewable energy development goals and increasing the proportion of clean energy in its power mix.
