Public-private Sectors Join Forces to Organize ASEAN(Bangkok) Energy Storage & Smart Energy Expo 2025

In response to the policy supporting the development of clean energy and Thailand's goal of increasing the proportion of renewable energy to 51% of total power generation by 2037, the Ministry of Energy, together with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the Thai Wind Energy Association (ThaiWEA), the Thai-Chinese Commerce Federation, the Guangdong Battery Industry Association, Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group, and Compass Exhibition, have announced a collaboration to organize ASEAN’s largest exhibition for the energy industry, “ASEAN Energy Storage & Smart Energy Expo 2025,” which is set to take place from March 5-7, 2025 at IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani. The event is expected to welcome over 10,000 attendees from around the world.
 
Mr. Sayan Pansang, Assistant Governor - Business Management, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), mentioned the policy to support clean energy development, saying that Thailand aims to increase the proportion of renewable energy to 51% of the country’s total power generation by 2037. Meanwhile, ASEAN has set an ambitious target to achieve a combined solar power capacity of 266 gigawatts by 2050. This represents a significant growth opportunity for the energy sector. Both the public and private sectors have expressed support and are committed to promoting clean energy technologies and smart innovations in the ASEAN region.
 
EGAT places great importance on sustainable energy development and is committed to being a part of supporting projects that foster collaboration between the public and private sectors and international organizations in driving Thailand's energy transition. Therefore, EGAT is ready to support the ASEAN Energy Storage & Smart Energy Expo 2025, which will serve as a valuable platform for promoting clean energy technologies and smart innovations in the ASEAN region.
 
Mr. Arda Günler, Vice President, Thai Wind Energy Association (ThaiWEA), expressed his support for the ASEAN Energy Storage & Smart Energy Expo 2025. He stated that this event will bring together industry experts, showcase clean energy innovations from around the world, and serve as the premier platform for fostering regional cooperation and driving advancements in sustainable energy. The Thai Wind Energy Association recognizes the importance of this event and is committed to supporting the organizing team's efforts. Mr. Wang Zhaoyun, Chairman of Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group, stated that the global energy transition is currently at a critical juncture. Energy storage systems and smart energy, which are the driving forces of the energy revolution, are leading the energy industry towards a cleaner, more efficient, and smarter future. The ASEAN countries, with their unique geographical location, have immense potential and opportunities for developing energy storage systems and smart energy. Moreover, governments of the ASEAN countries have introduced a series of supportive policies to create a favorable environment for the development of the industry. Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam have collectively set an ambitious goal to install more than 266 gigawatts of solar power capacity by 2050.
 
As a leading country in ASEAN, Thailand is actively promoting the “Eastern Economic Corridor” (EEC) development strategy, which is closely aligned with the “Belt and Road Initiative,” providing a strong impetus for economic growth in the region. Hosting ASEAN Energy Storage & Smart Energy Expo 2025 in Thailand not only serves as a crucial platform for Chinese companies to expand into the Thai and Southeast Asian markets, but it is also a significant event for the new energy industry.
