Thailand's Suvarnabhumi Airport is driving its green transformation with a #SolarRooftopProject. Currently, the airport has installed a 4.4 MW solar power system, which reduces carbon emissions by 3,600 tons annually—equivalent to planting 360,000 trees. By 2025, the airport plans to expand the system to 50 MW, meeting 20% of its electricity needs. As Thailand's first green airport, this project serves as a model for sustainable aviation development in Southeast Asia, showcasing the potential of green infrastructure.
This green transformation is made possible through #Collaboration with multiple companies. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) provides energy management and technical support to ensure efficient operation of the power system. PTT Group supplies key equipment and technology to help expand solar coverage. The District Cooling System and Power Plant Company optimize energy and cooling system integration, while the Metropolitan Electricity Authority coordinates the integration of solar power with the national grid.

สนามบินสุวรรณภูมิของประเทศไทยกำลังขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงสู่ความเป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมด้วยโครงการติดตั้งแผงโซลาร์บนหลังคา ขณะนี้สนามบินได้ติดตั้งระบบพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ขนาด 4.4 เมกะวัตต์ ซึ่งช่วยลดการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ได้ถึง 3,600 ตันต่อปี หรือเทียบเท่ากับการปลูกต้นไม้จำนวน 360,000 ต้น โดยภายในปี 2025 สนามบินมีแผนขยายระบบพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ให้เป็น 50 เมกะวัตต์ ซึ่งจะสามารถรองรับความต้องการไฟฟ้าถึง 20% ของสนามบิน ในฐานะที่เป็นสนามบินสีเขียวแห่งแรกของประเทศไทย โครงการนี้ถือเป็นต้นแบบสำหรับการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมการบินอย่างยั่งยืนในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ พร้อมแสดงให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพของโครงสร้างพื้นฐานที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม
การเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้เกิดขึ้นได้จากความร่วมมือกับหลายบริษัท การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย (กฟผ.) ให้การสนับสนุนด้านการจัดการพลังงานและเทคนิคเพื่อให้ระบบไฟฟ้าทำงานอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ กลุ่มบริษัท ปตท. จัดหาอุปกรณ์และเทคโนโลยีหลักเพื่อขยายพื้นที่ติดตั้งแผงโซลาร์ บริษัท ระบบปรับอากาศและผลิตไฟฟ้า จำกัด ช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการผสานระบบพลังงานและความเย็น ขณะที่การไฟฟ้านครหลวงทำหน้าที่ประสานงานการเชื่อมต่อพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์เข้ากับระบบโครงข่ายไฟฟ้าของประเทศ
